Artist Statement:

Raised on the testosterone of action movies while simultaneously being bribed to wear dresses as a child, Lauren Lane’s artwork explores the intersection of traditional masculinity and femininity. She currently lives and practices in St. Louis where she will tell literally anyone how she’s not afraid to use her MFA (from the Memphis College of Art) while making aggressively glittery artwork in multiple mediums.

Bio:

Lauren Lane is the Founder and Executive Director of Skepticon, a national conference located annually in St. Louis, MO that promotes skepticism, science education and community building. She earned her BFA in drawing from Missouri State University and her MFA in Interdisciplinary Studio from The Memphis College of Art.

She currently makes art, things, and trouble in St. Louis, MO.
